Before you start
Ghost Admin access
You need permission to create Custom Integrations.
A RankOps AI account
Sign up first so you can add your Ghost site in the SEO console.
Ghost Admin API key
Create it in Ghost Admin under Integrations, then keep it private.
One test article
Use manual publishing for the first article and inspect the post in Ghost.

1Create a Custom Integration in Ghost
In Ghost Admin, open Settings, then Integrations, and create a new Custom Integration for RankOps AI.
Ghost shows an Admin API key and API URL for the integration.2Copy the Ghost values
Copy your Ghost site URL and the Ghost Admin API key. Keep the key private because it can create posts.
You have one https URL and one key in key-id:secret format.3Paste into RankOps AI
Open RankOps AI Website Setup, choose your site, set Target type to Ghost, paste the Ghost site URL and Ghost Admin API key, then save.
RankOps AI shows the publish connection as saved.4Test and publish one post
Click Test connection, then manually send one reviewed article and inspect it in Ghost Admin before scaling.
The post appears in Ghost Posts with the expected title, body, excerpt, meta description, tags, and status.
Troubleshooting
Connection test returns 401
Why · The Ghost Admin API key is missing, copied incorrectly, or was regenerated after you saved it.
How to fix · Copy the current key from Ghost Admin Integrations, paste it into RankOps AI Website Setup, save, and test again.
Post is created with the wrong status
Why · The default publish status in RankOps AI controls whether the Ghost post is saved as a draft or published.
How to fix · Open Website Setup, check Article defaults, save the intended status, and test with one article.
Tags are missing
Why · RankOps AI can read and send Ghost tags, but tags need to exist or be generated from the article context.
How to fix · Prepare tags in Ghost, click Test connection again, then send one article and inspect the Ghost post.
