What the plugin does

RankOps AI SEO Publisher is a lightweight WordPress connector for site owners who want an easier SEO publishing flow. If you find RankOps AI from the WordPress Plugin Directory, this page shows the full setup path from plugin install to first article.

  • Receive reviewed articles

Approved RankOps AI content lands directly in WordPress Posts. No copy-pasting.

  • WordPress stays in control

Inspect title, body, category, tags and publish state inside the WordPress admin. During Test connection, RankOps AI reads existing WordPress categories and tags, then matches them automatically on future publishes. Tags are saved as native WordPress tags, so themes that render tags can link them to WordPress tag archive pages.

  • One setup per site

Each WordPress site has its own Publish URL and security key inside the plugin settings.

Before you start

  • WordPress admin account

You need permission to upload and activate plugins.

  • A RankOps AI account

Sign up first so you can add your WordPress site in the SEO console.

  • A plugin install method

Use WordPress plugin search for the quickest install, or download the zip from this page for manual upload.

  • Compatible WordPress and PHP

WordPress 6.4 or newer. PHP 7.4 or newer. (Tested up to WordPress 7.0.)

Install the WordPress plugin

Choose the path that fits your WordPress site. Plugin search is usually fastest; the zip is still here when your host requires manual upload.

Install and connect (4 steps)

Each step shows what to do, and how you know that step worked.

  1. 1Install and activate the plugin

In WordPress admin → Plugins → Add New, search RankOps AI SEO Publisher, then Install Now → Activate. If plugin search is not available, choose Upload Plugin and use the zip from this page.

You see 'RankOps AI' in the WordPress left sidebar.
  2. 2Open the RankOps AI menu in WordPress

Click 'RankOps AI' in the sidebar. The settings page shows two values: Publish URL (a long https:// link) and Security key (a random string). Click each Copy button.

Both fields show a brief 'Copied' confirmation when you click Copy.
  3. 3Paste into RankOps AI Console

In RankOps AI → Website Setup → choose your site. Set Target type to 'WordPress plugin'. Paste the Publish URL and Security key. Click Save settings.

    RankOps AI shows 'Configuration saved'.
  4. 4Test the connection

Click 'Test connection' right below the Save button.

Green badge 'Connection verified' appears. This step also syncs existing WordPress categories and tags. If you see a red error instead, scroll down to Troubleshooting.

Send your first article

  1. Generate and review an article

In RankOps AI: pick a keyword, generate an article, and approve it. Keep publishing manual for the first run.

  2. Send one article first

Manually trigger publish on the ready article. It should appear in your WordPress Posts list within a few seconds.

  3. Inspect the article in WordPress

Open WordPress Posts → All Posts. Confirm the title, body, categories, tags and author look right.

  4. Scale up after the first article looks right

After the first article is correct, enable your publish plan or switch article handling to automatic after quality check.

First article looks wrong? Most common fixes

  • · Wrong category appears → Go back to RankOps AI Website Setup, click Test connection again, then manually publish one more article.
  • · HTML rendering issues → Open the post in WordPress and switch the editor view. RankOps AI sends standard HTML.
  • · Author name is wrong → RankOps AI Site Settings → Site Profile → set the default author.

Troubleshooting

Plugin activation fails

Why · Usually WordPress or PHP version is too old, or the zip was uploaded incompletely.

How to fix · Check your WordPress version (Tools → Site Health or Updates page) and PHP version (Tools → Site Health → Info). Need WordPress 6.4+ and PHP 7.4+. Re-download the zip and try again.

RankOps AI menu does not appear in WordPress sidebar

Why · Plugin uploaded but not activated, or your WordPress user is not an administrator.

How to fix · Go to Plugins page, find 'RankOps AI SEO Publisher' and click Activate. If the plugin is already active, sign in with a WordPress administrator account.

Test connection returns 401

Why · The Security key in RankOps AI does not match the one in WordPress, or the key was regenerated after you saved it.

How to fix · In WordPress → RankOps AI menu, generate or copy the Security key again. Paste into RankOps AI → Website Setup → Security key. Save and re-test.

Article sent but doesn't appear in Posts

Why · The article may have been saved under a different status, or your WordPress user doesn't have post creation rights.

How to fix · Check WordPress Posts → All (not just Published). If still missing, check the plugin's Publish log inside the RankOps AI menu in WordPress.

Categories or tags are missing on the published post

Why · Usually Test connection has not synced the existing WordPress categories and tags yet, or the article used taxonomy names that do not exist in WordPress.

How to fix · First click Test connection again in RankOps AI → Website Setup, then manually publish one more article. Categories are selected from existing WordPress categories by default. If you want new tags to be created automatically, enable 'Auto-create missing tags' in WordPress → RankOps AI menu. If tags are saved but not clickable on the post page, check whether your WordPress theme renders post tags and tag archive links.

Author shows as the wrong WordPress user

Why · The plugin uses a default WordPress user as the post author. If the default is not set, it falls back to the WordPress admin who installed the plugin.

How to fix · In WordPress → RankOps AI menu → set 'Default author' to the WordPress user you want to credit. Future posts will use that author.
